Biography
Dr. Răzvan Roșu | Anthropologist, Ethnomusicologist & Cultural Consultant
Welcome to my personal website. I am a cultural anthropologist and musician born in Transylvania, Romania, but currently based in Vienna. My work focuses on European cultural heritage, local and regional identities, and endangered musical and linguistic varieties.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to study ethnology, cultural anthropology, and history in Cluj, Vienna, Jena, Berlin, and Budapest. This experience has shown me the importance of bridging historical research with fieldwork and communities. Consequently, I combine academic research with efforts in cultural preservation.
I have previously worked with the Austrian Academy of Sciences and served as a museum curator. Currently, I lecture at Babeș-Bolyai University and other institutions, while also performing traditional music worldwide. My experiences in academia, numerous international cultural projects, and the music scene have led me to share my knowledge with individuals, institutions, and companies as a cultural consultant.
